Hijama

Cupping therapy or suction blistering is a practice that was discovered by the Chinese and has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. Suction blistering, also referred to as cupping, is thought to treat various medical complications including chronic pain, respiratory conditions, low back pain, arthritis, gynecological disorders and much more.

As we age, we suffer from increased accumulation of toxins, stemming from poor diet and lifestyle, pharmaceutical drugs, pesticides, insecticides and other chemicals in our fruits, vegetables and meat, environmental pollutants and chemicals. Hijama is said to stimulate the bone marrow to produce new, healthier blood. It increases blood circulation as well as pain reduction – areas of chronic pain often have localized areas of blood stagnation. This exercise helps with the improved circulation. Inverted Hijama applies a mild vacuum on the skin which improves concentration of plasma within the capillary bed during venous drainage and partially draws blood into the tissue spaces reducing congestion at various levels along the arteriolar-capillary continuum .

Cupping has been used successfully for numerous diseases including blood disorders, hemophilia, tumors, headaches, paralysis, cardio-vascular and other ailments. Cupping therapy is effective in treating some clinical manifestations of external pathogens that are fighting at the level of the skin.

It also can help by facilitating a sufficient flow of nutrition to the affected tissues and also stimulates the flow of blood and lymph, which in turn enhances blood circulation & immune function. It has been used in the treatment of various diseases including internal disorders & it is used on corresponding organ points to treat disorders. It’s helpful in cases of tense muscles especially in the back; it’s useful in treating painful joints, stomach-ache, vomiting and diarrhea.
